The Bible lists the original twelve Jewish tribes in multiple Old Testament passages. These consistently include the tribe of “Dan” (such as in Genesis 35:23–26, Genesis 49:1-28, and Numbers 1:5–15). However, the Twelve Tribes Communities uses the list of the Israelite tribes found in Revelation 7:4–8, which includes “Manasseh” instead of Dan. ↩
